Game Recap
Rockford Christian’s Jacob Gugle picked up his fourth win of the season Wednesday, allowing only three hits over five innings of work as the varsity boys baseball team beat Richmond-Burton 2-0.
The win sealed a perfect 14-0 conference season for the visitors and improved their overall record to 28-3. Gugle kept the home team off balance by throwing his breaking ball and change-up for strikes. Nolan Gazouski scored the only run Gugle would need in the first inning, when the Royal Lions executed a double steal. RC added an insurance run in the sixth when Gazouski singled to score Dave Prisby, who led off the frame with a walk.
Gazouski pitched the final two innings to earn his second save of the season. RC is back in action today as it travels to Kaneland for a non conference game.
