A six-run first inning, sparked by a two-run single off the bat of Neil Thomas, propelled the Rockford Christian varsity baseball team to a 15-3 win over Aurora Christian on Friday.

Nolan Gazouski added the finishing touch with a walk-off grand slam in the fifth, making a winner of freshman lefty Colin Truitt for the fifth time this season.

The first five hitters in the RC line-up accounted for seven hits, 12 runs and nine RBI. Alec Powell drove in three runs and Jacob Gugle finished with a pair of hits and two RBI. Dave Prisby and Jake McClellan scored three runs apiece, setting the table for the home team all afternoon.
