Meet Recap

The Rockford Christian boys cross country team advanced to the 2A Woodstock North Sectional. The Royal Lions finished second in the Belvidere North Regional on Saturday, October 24 with a score of 69 points.

The Rockford Christian pack had the tightest 1-5 split of the season with just 27 seconds separating Nick Monkemeyer’s (Sr.) 15:54 finish time from Josiah Vogel’s (So.) 16:21 finish. Riley Wells (Fr.), Ethan Volk (Sr.), and Jack Kurtz (Jr.) filled in the gap running 15:55, 16:05, and 16:19 respectively. Noah Wells (Jr.) and Andy Volk (Fr.) also ran solid races placing 31 and 37 out of the 70 man field. The total team effort was good enough to hold off conference rival Dixon by just 2 points for the second week in a row.
