Meet Recap

On Tuesday, October 6 the Rockford Christian boys cross country team ran in the Winnebago Roger Fredrickson Invitational at Fuller Forest Preserve. The Royal Lions won the meet with a season best score of 23 points defeating conference rivals Winnebago and North Boone. Co-captain Nick Monkemeyer (Sr.) finished 2nd place, out of 68 runners, running a time of 10:07 over the 2.05 mile course.

The Royal Lion pack ran exceptional well placing 6 runners in the top 10 overall places:
2. Monkemeyer 10:07, 3. Riley Wells (Fr.) 10:37, 5. Ethan Volk (Sr.) 10:47, 6. Noah Wells (Jr.) 10:50, 7. Jack Kurtz (Jr.) 10:51, 10. Andy Volk (Fr.) 11:03, and 12. Lukas Marshall (Jr.) 11:10.

Additional Rockford Christian runners ran the following: Will Mecklenburg (Jr.) 11:18, Cal Granite (Fr.) 11:26, Nicolas Capriola (Fr.) 11:28, co-capatin John Holliday (Sr.) 11:30, Tobias McIntosh (So.) 11:52, and team chaplain Grant Franseen (Sr.) 12:47.

The Royal Lions took the Columbus weekend off to prepare for the Big Northern Conference Championship coming up on Saturday, October 17. The Royal Lions will square off against the conference at Burlington Central High School to defend their 2014 team title. Meet details and start times will be posted later in the week.
